Symbol Technologies, a mobile infrastructure vendor, recently announced that it would be embedding some of its RFID scanners with IBM middleware. This action would result in reducing the network traffic and would also further automate data management from RFID wireless tags. Computing reports:
Under the agreement, Symbol will embed IBM's WebSphere RFID Device Infrastructure (WRDI) middleware product into its own XR Series of fixed RFID readers.
The company is also in talks with other RFID software providers to embed their technology in Symbol readers.
